It's a quaint authentic Japanese Shabu Shabu restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was very good. There are lots of other selections on the menu but we got Shabu Shabu. The meat was good quality as were the veggies. The soup base was mild and not overpowering. Besides the Shabu Shabu we tried the mushroom appetizer which was delicious. The only negative was they didn't tell us it came with crackers instead of bread due to an issue with their oven.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and we were thoroughly impressed. The restaurant is extremely unassuming but inside, it is clean and spacious. The appetizers were good. If I had to choose one over the other, I enjoyed the moistness of the karaage. We've tried the sukiyaki and shabu shabu and we both enjoyed the sukiyaki a lot more. The shabu shabu is worth a try because their dipping sauces are excellent but we did enjoy the flavor of the sukiyaki dipped in an egg. The shabu shabu is pretty pricey but it does come with a large vegetable tray and the meat was good quality. We preferred the choice ribeye over the Australian wagyu. We had Kai as a server and he did a wonderful job of giving us advice and engaging with us. Thank you so much!

Best sukiyaki in WA that i can find hands down no contest. Their meat supplier must love their cows cause dam were these cuts fatty and plentiful. The sukiyaki was simple and clean not too salty especially as it reduces. Definitely get the Australian for the best bang for your buck. The tonkatsu was mid but we know that's not what their known for

Finally tried Shabu Shabu Kyoto Japanese Restaurant on a chilly Friday night: Ambiance: The restaurant exuded a serene Japanese vibe, creating a peaceful dining atmosphere that enhanced the experience. Food: The chicken karaage was a hit--crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside. For the main course, five out of six of us ordered the DIY shabu shabu, each served with a personal pot filled with generous portions of fresh meat and vegetables. The soup base added a delightful touch, and I'm excited to explore other options in the future. Customer Service: The attentive and friendly servers made our experience memorable. Booking via Yelp ahead of time ensured a short wait, and the overall friendliness of the staff enhanced our dining experience. My family and I had an enjoyable time.

Good food, quick service. I love that they do individual pots, which is great for accommodating people's individual tastes. Everyone gets their own platter of veggies and noodles, which is a pretty big portion. I'd come back!

Came here on a Tuesday night with a party of 6 and was greeted right away. It took a few minutes to get our table though but nothing too bad. We started off with the crispy rice appetizer and it was super good. We checked in on Yelp and got edamame too. I chose pork belly for my meat choice and chose the shabu broth I think. Overall. I think the broth was kind of bland, but all the meat and veggies were good. And the sauce definitely helped. Service was great. We got checked up on a lot and our waters were filled quickly. Server was super friendly too.

Able to stop by for a quick lunch today. I wanted something hot, healthy, and delicious on this kinda gloomy Friday. Strategically chose a non prime hour of 1245pm and thankfully it was not busy. Got seated right away at the bar and ordered the Crispy Rice Tuna roll and Shabu Shabu original Daishi taste Australian Wagyu. The Crispy Rice Tuna was different, had a nice crunch to it, not spicy at all and I would have liked more kick to it. The Tuna itself was not bad, good amount, but not really a wow factor. Give a 3 out of 5. Enjoyed it though. The Shabu Shabu itself and the Aussie Wagyu was delicious. Each singular piece I enjoyed slowly and gleefully. The broth was nice and gentle, subtle and clean, healthy along with the veggies and noodles that came with it. I love Shabu Shabu for its simplicity with a focus on high quality ingredients. Japanese food is my #2 favorite cuisine and Shabu Shabu has a lot to do with it. Japanese philosophy of food I much agree with and it shows here.

If you're craving a different kind of hot pot experience, Shabu Shabu is the way to go! My parents raved about this place after going there several times so I finally got a chance to try it. There's not too many things on the menu but even as someone as indecisive as me couldn't figure out which broth to try! The first time I went I decided to try the Spicy Miso since I love spicy food. To note: the broth really isn't that spicy, to my slight disappointment. :P For the protein, I ordered the Australian Wagyu Beef. Oh my goodness, this cut of beef is so thin and DELICIOUS! It will definitely be my go to going forward. No matter what broth and protein you order, you will get the same side dishes with your entree (veggies including mushrooms, noodles). I love me some veggies and noodles but I had a hard time finishing everything! They give you a platter filled with your chosen protein and I have never been able to finish it all. Shabu shabu is definitely a lighter version of hot pot, and by the end of the meal, I didn't feel like I had months' worth of sodium intake. :P The restaurant is kid friendly as well, offering high chairs if needed (and of course the stove top won't be turned on where the kids are seated). The service was also excellent. We had a little accident at our table during a meal where something spilled and they very promptly came to clean it up, along with providing us a replacement dipping sauce that spilled.

I love this place for a comforting, nutritious meal that's not too heavy and can imagine it just hitting the spot on the cold rainy days coming ahead. The shabu shabu with the sukiyaki broth is the best choice. Though the menu may seem pricy, everything was surprisingly filling for how light the meal looks, and each person ordered a different meat so we could try multiple (family style is the way to go!) -- it seems the more expensive the yummier AND fattier, so pick your poison. Will come back!
